Spirit AeroSystems Communications Manager, Editorial & Content in Wichita, Kansas

The Leadership & Organizational Communications (LOC) team at Spirit is the heartbeat of our corporate narrative, crafting the strategies that drive engagement and propel our brand's voice to new heights. The Content & Editorial Manager will play an integral role in shaping and communicating the corporate narrative through different mediums. This role will focus on nurturing and expanding our company's voice across various platforms and business lines. The ideal candidate will be a master storyteller, a detail-oriented editor, and a strategic thinker ready to lead our editorial efforts and content creation process.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create, curate, and direct compelling content for various channels that align with the organization's goals and brand identity.

  • Ownership and governance of content strategies / channels.

  • Develop and manage an integrated content strategy that supports corporate objectives and enhances visibility across all business lines.

  • Collaborate with functional, business and Country communications partners in producing high-quality and compelling corporate content, including but not limited to feature articles, executive messaging, newsletters, and podcasts.

  • Leverage insights from analytics and partner with teams to inform content strategy and development.

  • Lead and coordinate editorial initiatives to ensure the production of high-quality, detail-oriented, and data-supported content geared toward the organization's strategic objectives.

  • Develop content strategies to effectively reach target audiences, fostering engagement and supporting marketing goals.

  • Collaborate with creative, marketing, and design teams to ideate content goals and ensure content is appealing and relevant to current consumer trends.

  • Write, proofread, and structure content based on business requirements, adhering to editorial review processes to maintain high standards.

  • Optimize written content to enhance user engagement, with a particular emphasis on excellent writing and editing skills

  • Work closely with counterparts from other divisions to support the growth of digital engagement and ensure that content development aligns with overall corporate strategy.

  • Serve as the account manager for video production

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or 8+ years of experience in content development and editorial roles, preferably within a corporate setting.

  • Experience managing or collaborating with content teams and across various departments.

  • Stellar writing, editing, and proofreading skills combined with a strong editorial mindset.

  • Exceptional project management skills to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.

  • Ability to craft content for various mediums: print, radio, social media, email, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in a journalism, content generation or broadcasting capacity

  • Experience in podcast production and other innovative content formats.

  • Proficient in digital media strategies, CMS, SEO, and analytics tools.
