Job Description Summary
The Lead Development Quality Assurance (DQA) Engineer conducts independent assessment of engineering compliance to systems, rules, and processes to ensure fulfillment of internal and external requirements for control system software. They will ensure that projects and products are capable and will meet applicable standards and requirements. The Lead DQA Engineer has a comprehensive in-depth understanding of industry and regulatory requirements, standards, and practices in aerospace systems, software, and hardware.
Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assure that control system software but developed by GE Aerospace is the result of suitable, rigorous, and structured processes
Conduct assessments / audits of engineering development activities to gauge compliance with applicable regulatory, industrial, and company standards including, but not limited to:
RTCA / DO-178B/C
RTCA / DO-254
MIL-HDBK-516
SAE ARP4754A
Review technical documentation with a view to Quality and Compliance requirements
Generate Quality Assurance plans and work instructions for execution of Quality Assurance functions
Conduct root cause / corrective action investigations using appropriate procedures
Provide regular and thorough status reports and data to leadership
Ensure Quality records are maintained, metrics collected, and reports given back to the business
Interface with customers, suppliers and regulatory authorities
Provide technical guidance, mentoring and training to quality processes and requirements
Generate and maintain objective evidence of assessment activities for customer and regulatory review
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor of Science from an accredited university or high school diploma with a minimum of 7 years experience
At least 3 additional years of experience in engineering, quality, process assurance or compliance
Desired
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Embedded Controls Experience
Solid oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to gain US Government Clearance
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
