The Van Wert County Department of Job and Family Services is accepting resumes for the position of Eligibility Referral Specialist II in our OhioMeansJobs department.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position will work primarily with youth ages 14-24.  You will collaborate with families, providers, schools, and the community to develop and implement strategies that educate and train young individuals to gain life skills.

The right individual will be given opportunities to collaborate with the Courts, Schools, and other agencies and be a part of building strong positive relationships with our community partners. This position will also work with the Prevention, Retention, Contingency (PRC) Program and serve as a back-up to our Eligibility Referral Specialist 2 that carries an adult caseload.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1 year experience as an Eligibility Referral Specialist I, or one year of experience in behavioral science, social science, or customer service techniques, six months experience in business mathematics, business English, interviewing techniques and six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing, or-education, training and/or experience in an equal amount. You should have strong written and verbal communication skills, be skillful in problem solving, and be able to develop and present new ideas to unique issues as they arise. You must be highly adaptable to change, organized, ability to meet multiple deadlines, and want to make a difference in the lives of young adults in the community. Previous experience with case management preferred.

PAY RANGE:  

Pay to be determined based on experience and per the Van Wert Job & Family Services Compensation Practices and Procedures Guidelines.  With no previous experience, pay rate will start at $15.48 per hour. After successfully completing 6-month probationary period pay per hour will increase to $16.25.
