Job Summary

Work closely with and support Programs Finance Director in periodic (weekly/monthly/quarterly) reporting. Extract and collate financial output/forecast data and relevant commentaries from systems and teams. Help compile summaries including closing flash/walks, SRO, R&O, forecast, impairment test etc. and support development of presentations for Engine Programs using standardized templates and processes. Maintain records of reports and summaries on an ongoing basis, helping to trace performance to past assumptions and events. Collaborate closely with and support Engines FP&A as needed. Support investment performance tracking/financial reporting. Enhance and develop summaries/templates and support assessment and prioritization of efforts based on cost-benefit analysis.

Analytics

Coordinate efforts with PDs, IPTs, CFD, Program Controllers, Customers/Partners to compile analyses and interpret engine programs financial trends, customer/partner data, and links to business intelligence (key driver data). Extract data from off-line documents and other summaries that are not available in reporting systems. Compile/organize key assumptions for ease of tracking and review by Program and Finance leaders, including developing tools to record and summarize data and inputs for forecasting & impairment review purposes. Conduct analysis RRSP past and potential future performance against the key drivers/assumptions, events, identify trends and the correlations between key drivers and results. Examples include but are not exclusive:

• Variance analysis • “Sales to cash” and other walks • Range of outcomes/forecast confidence based on R&O • Trend analyses on various KPIs

Summarize the data/trends/analysis in repeatable graphs, charts and presentations for ease of review. Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and forensics in specific Program areas as needed.

Process Improvement

Drive initiatives and improvement projects for Program Financial reporting and forecasting, including integration with current system functionality and other functional groups where applicable. Collect requirements from internal customers and use functional and business expertise to develop solutions.

Drive efforts to streamline and standardize Programs finance processes and templates across programs/IPTs to reduce manual labor and improve data availability that meets Engines and Program reporting/review needs. Drive streamlining and standardization of Excel SRO templates, financial close walks, impairment assumptions/results, forecasting summary templates and collection of commentary from team.

ESIOP POC for Program Office and RRSPs – support efforts to further develop ESIOP functionality by coordinating meetings & collaboration with ESIOP team and functional experts in RRSPs (e.g. controllers, IPTs, etc.). Support implementation and testing efforts of ESIOP tool. Support Program Finance Director & Controllers with standardization/streamlining of new analyses, linking reports from various financial systems for ease of refresh and repeatability.

Job Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or related field is required. Advanced degree is preferred; MBA is most desirable.

  • 5-10 years' experience in financial reporting / analysis. Track record of collecting/compiling data from various data sources, organizing it into simple structures, developing streamlined and repeatable reports including graphical representation and easy to understand summaries.

  • Advanced Excel, MS Access, Power Point and SAP/ERP skills required. Demonstrated ability to build trust & relationships with colleagues, work within a complex organization and collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Track record of developing and implementing process/tool and other improvements.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Visual Basic / other programming experience to streamline data management, collection and report robustness and automation – strongly preferred.

  • Experience in Aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial segments.

  • Experience with complex long term contracts.

  • Ability to perform and communicate complex and highly sophisticated empirical and statistical analysis to include the identifying of relevant input data, model design and set up, data analysis, inferring conclusions, formulating recommendations to attain overall corporate objectives, and communicate directly and effectively with all levels of management to include the highest levels.
