Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Act as an authorized agent of the company with the responsibility to commit company resources through contracts and agreements for the procurement of goods and services. Manage the Strategic, Non-Operational Supply Chain activity needed to support the procurement and acquisition of all direct and indirect material, supplies and capital equipment for the St. Louis site, in addition to leading and/or supporting various strategic initiatives and special projects between GKN and our supply chain related to, but not limited to such efforts as Strategic Sourcing / Contract Negotiations, New Supplier Development, Proposal Development, Cost Down initiatives, Work Transfers and Product Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the strategies and objectives of the Direct and Indirect Procurement Group.

  • Monitor / manage the procurement process for capital expenditures.

  • Develop / implement effective communication processes with the Supply Chain community for our Program / customers.

  • Provide organizational leadership and direction, with emphasis on team building.

  • Develop and implement direct and indirect supplier and commodity strategies to support the overall operation for the GKN St. Louis site. Develop a responsive supplier base, providing cost effective, on-time delivery of quality material.

  • Manage the Indirect Procurement for the St. Louis site. Ensure the effective use of resources while at the same time meeting the needs of the site functional business units.

  • Serve as primary Point of Contact for all indirect procurement.

  • Ensure clear and concise Supply Chain expectations are communicated and properly coordinated with internal business unit customers, and external Program / Customer interfaces.

  • Develop optimization strategy for overhead expenditures.

  • Work with GKN plc on corporate leveraged contracts.

  • Ensure the compliance of the approved sourcing and procurement procedures (i.e. FAR, DFAR, and ISO). Interface with Contract Compliance personnel to assure consistency of compliance activities.

  • Manage the development and maintenance of the supplier certification process for GKN St. Louis. Assure compliance to the certification process.

  • Develop and manage the Small Disadvantaged Business program and Annual Certifications and Representations process for GKN St. Louis.

  • Manage direct / indirect employees and managers as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

About you

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Industrial or Operations Management

  • 10 years of experience in Supply Chain or Commodity Management

  • 5 years of experience in leadership ability within a manufacturing environment

  • Must be US Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GKN Experience

  • MBA or MS in Engineering Preferred

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.

  • Good analytical skills, an understanding of manufacturing, lean manufacturing principles, and strong customer relation skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office suite.

  • Recognized Materials Management or Supply Chain Management certification such as American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or Institute of Supplier Management (ISM).

  • Must possess excellent communications skills including strong executive-level presentation skills.
