Aerotek Assembly Operator in San Diego, California
Job Summary:
The Assembly Operator utilizes a variety of hand/power tools to perform advanced assembly operations of complex assemblies in accordance with quality/ quantity
standards; trains employees in basic & complex operations.
Perform all work in accordance with Standard work outline
Assemble car locks daily dependent on hour by hour schedule
Navigate through kits provided to assemble each build
Performs all work in a safe manner, to include proper use of personal protective equipment.
Follows Specification of inspections as noted
Dimensionally checks and tests production to insure assembled output meets requirements per AQL standards
Utilizes properly calibrated precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gages, thread gages, pin gages, and other measuring tools.
Informs the Team Leader of any operating / material / parts condition that would interfere with quality / quantity production, and takes / coordinates approved actions to resolve the problem(s).
Performs operator maintenance & operational checks on all departmental tools & equipment.
The Assembler-I segregates and periodically disposes of scrap / recycled material into approved collection containers.
In performing assigned duties, frequently lifts / moves up to and including 50 lbs.
Standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing are all required motions of the job.
Receives daily direction and support from the Team Leader/Supervisor.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
1 year of experience doing assembly (prefer mechanical) - must have
Experience using basic hand tools - must have
Must be able to stand for 8 hours
Good communications skills and attention to detail are required for this position
Ability to follow S.O.P’s and work safely
Ability to read and write to comply with written instructions and complete departmental paperwork
Schedule:
Monday – Friday;
OT mandatory the last week of the month to meet any deadlines.
OT may range from 1-2 hours a day and some Saturdays may be required
