About The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a senior finance professional to join GKN Aerospace, based at our head office in the West Midlands.
The successful candidate will be responsible formanagingthe central finance team and supportingthe deployment of the long term finance vision for GKN Aerospace, such that it supports the delivery of the future growth ambition of the business in a strong governance & control environment.
You will be responsible for thecentral finance functionsofGKNAerospace(sales circa £3.6bn and Capital investment programmecirca £185m. Your teamoversee amulti-location reporting unit structure of 3 business streams with 50 manufacturing sites, with a headcount of the business sitting at around 17,000 with finance at approximately 300.
Strategy & Planning
Lead strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting financial processes across the business ensuring alignment to the achievement of business goals;
Initiate strategic analysis to provide financial direction towards achieving strategic goals;
Lead and manage capital appropriation and NRC processes;
Provide financial input into M&A activities as appropriate and provide support in integration / divestment restructuring projects business wide
Performance & Management Information
Mange the delivery of the monthly results and provide effective and efficient reporting, analysis and interpretation against prior year, forecasts and budgets;
Support the drive for improving financial performance by holding business units to account;
Financial management and control of the central reporting entities
Provide leadership in deploying processes and policies to ensure that the business’ financial statements fairly reflect its performance and position;
Lead and direct the foreign exchange strategy and committee to ensure there is compliance with policy;
Manage the relationship with the external auditors and be a primary point of contact on all such matters for the business;
Drive the business’ bi-annual control governance reporting process, including goodwill impairment analysis, legal claims, litigation and NRC reporting;
Provide proactive leadership in creating an effective, robust and governance compliant controls and process environment satisfying the business’ requirements inc GRiP and audit;
Ensure the timely implementation of all audit recommendations;
Manage the financial risk areas identified in the business as they arise and take appropriate steps to report to the Executive Committee and ultimately minimise the exposure;
Technical lead across the business on all accounting issues and responsibility for ensuring that the business decisions and accounting implications are effectively managed;
Ensure that information required for external publication is accurately reflected and provided in a timely manner;
Overall responsibility for the statutory reporting of GASL and related Director responsibilities
Organisational and Development
Develop a dynamic team which is of high calibre, recognised and utilised throughout the business as value added business partners;
Establish and lead CI plan delivering continuing financial awareness and development across the business at all levels of the organisation;
Build and develop effective relationships to the key external and internal stakeholders
- Deliver and provide support on ad-hoc projects for the CEO and CFO as required;

Formal Qualifications / Experience:
Recognised formal accountancy qualification;
Proven ability to develop and deploy a vision across a multi-cultural organisation and deliver change;
Very strong attention to detail with clear ability to see the bigger picture;
Experience in working and managing in a multi-location, multi-cultural and diverse organisation;
Financial and technical expertise, particularly in IFRS;
Evidence of building high performing teams;
Highly IT literate;
