IBM Cloud Technology Sales Engineer in Montreal, Quebec

A Technology Sales Engineer role in IBM Cloud means a career where you're leading prospective clients towards benefiting from using IBM Cloud Paks and Red Hat OpenShift products. Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Articulate benefits of complex IBM Cloud-based technical solutions and products via industry and business terms to customers.

  • Document and promote complete solutions via demo creation, videos, proof of technologies, and presentations

  • Contribute to virtual technical teams building solutions to specific customers opportunities

  • Relate the technical needs of the customer back to the business facilitating understanding of the value of the solution back to the customers business (ROI).

  • Manage client technical relationships in assigned territory with the objective of gaining technical sponsorship for IBM Cloud with clients.

  • Work in collaboration with IBM Public Cloud Sales, IBM Client Technical Leaders, IBM Cloud Offering Management, IBM Cloud Development, IBM Consulting, Expert Lab Services, Business Partners, AND Customers.

As a Brand Technical Specialist you'll be the go-to subject matter expert, collaborating with colleagues across the wider Sales team - advising and supporting on client engagements throughout the entire sales process.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Client Strategy Development: Develop client strategies for IBM Cloud infrastructure and applications.

  • Solution Definition: Define compatible IBM Cloud solutions.

  • Proof of Concept Creation: Provide proof of concepts and simplify complex technical concepts for client understanding.

  • Stakeholder Relationship Building: Build credibility and trust with stakeholders to facilitate the closing of complex Cloud technology deals.

The ideal candidate can be located in the Toronto or Montreal area.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years integrating solutions comprised of XaaS, software, and services

  • Competitor experience directly or indirectly from a customer perspective

  • 3+ Years direct, face to face customer selling experience. Preference to experience with Enterprise accounts

  • Ability to write code in at least 2 programming languages

  • Understanding of development methodologies i.e. Waterfall, DevOps toolchain, CI/CD

  • The ideal candidate has passion for cloud technology and solving complex problems then documenting, training, and publicizing the result of the architected solution's impact to the business.

  • 2+ Years of industry experience working in, selling to, or supporting 1 or more industries within the sector

  • Technical skills in cloud and hybrid cloud designs, architectures and infrastructures with IBM Cloud and/or AWS, Azure, Google. Also familiarity with VMware and inter-Networking, familiarity with Cloud Object Storage and Kubernetes/Container solutions.

  • Technical sales skills with proven experience and success with using technical skills to drive sales

  • Strong technical skills with passion for projects.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with teams within IBM and partners externally.

  • Creative problem solver and open to change.

  • Ability to work in complex, matrix managed organizational environments
