Job Description:
General Responsibilities:
Support environmental data management workflows on projects and corporate initiatives. Implement and maintain project and enterprise data management systems. Assist in organizing and managing work to help improve data systems, standards, and quality. Assist in developing documentation and standards in support of Data Solutions initiatives. Perform data acquisition, data management, data analysis, and data visualization in support of projects and corporate initiatives. Determine appropriate data sources and methods, develop technical workflows, and create technical reporting products. Responsible for ensuring data governance and data integrity and developing technical documentation and training, as appropriate. Ensure that all data deliverables meet a high level of quality and comply with corporate standards.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Coordinate data workflows on environmental projects using EQuIS
Research, acquire, compile, and compare data from public and proprietary sources
Perform data cleanup, processing, verification, and upload to enterprise and relational database management systems
Implement technical workflows
Document project data workflows, data sources, and data limitations
Perform QA/QC review of data
Promote and foster data stewardship, data governance, and data integrity
Implement and maintain enterprise and relational data management systems
Create, develop, automate, and implement data workflows
Create and configure appropriate tools for field data collection or data review based on project needs
Perform data analyses and computation using various software platforms, tools, and scripts
Enhance existing systems and workflows with custom tools
Develop and create data tables, and other reporting products
Review and improve data processing for efficiency
Coordinate with laboratories, agencies, and personnel to communicate requirements and formatting for electronic data deliverables for database import
Evaluate project needs and provide recommendations
Implement quality assurance practices and standard operating procedures
Prepare technical documentation, workplans, and data management plans in support of enterprise systems and Terracon projects
Mentor and/or supervise data management personnel.
Follows safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in geology, GIS, geography, data science, environmental science, engineering, or related field with 3 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years’ related experience.
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience with EQuIS and other Geotechnical and Environmental database management systems.
Experience with relational databases highly desired.
Experience with SQL, C#, .NET and other programming languages.
