About The Opportunity

Job Summary:This position is responsible for all aspects of the inspection function at GKN Aerospace Newington.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform first article, in-process and final inspection functions.

  • Performs over-inspection.

  • Identify and document product nonconformance's.

  • Maintain quality documentation in accordance with OMS & AS9100.

  • Support and assist with corrective and preventative actions.

  • Assist in preparing First Article Packages.

  • Assist with audits, inspections and Gage R&R studies.

  • Perform part marking and packaging of in-process and finished components as needed.

  • Responsible for calibration of tools as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Minimum Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in inspection of complex machined parts.

  • Minimum of 2 customer release agent certification.

  • Experience with military / commercial aerospace components.

  • Experience with layout inspection techniques.

  • Experience with ANSI Y14.5M - Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.

  • BasicComputer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
