We are excited to welcome a Facilities Manager to our team as we embark on a journey of growth and innovation at our New Haven facility. As a key leader on-site, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a wide range of initiatives, including mechanical and electrical systems, safety protocols, cleaning services, and other facility projects.

This position will sit onsite full-time in New Haven, CT reporting to the General Manager of SARGENT Manufacturing.

What you will be doing

  • Oversee the planning, allocation, and utilization of our 500K square foot workspace allocating resources across the manufacturing and Corporate Shared Services Divisions.

  • Build and develop strong working relationships with employees and leaders across the organization, as well as with 3rd party vendors.

  • Conduct performance reviews for you staff members to promote upward advancement and internal mobility.

  • Develop, implement, and analyze for efficiency standards and policies for the facility. This entails the upkeep of all structural elements and landscaping features.

  • Prepare and manage the annual budgets for facilities including expenditure projects ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and other resources.

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure a safe and environmentally sound workplace; ensure the building meets health & safety requirements.

  • Enforce safety policies and procedures in order to remain compliant with local, state, and federal rules/regulations.

  • Partner with the business during competitive bidding processes involving capital improvements to building and property.

  • Responsible for the general maintenance, upkeep, and testing of all essential utilities including well systems, waste management systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical service, hardware, backup generators, and supplies. Hands on role in accomplishing repairs on systems and buildings.

  • Functions as a first responder in emergency situations.

    What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration with a focus on Real Estate or Property Management, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or Construction Management.

  • Must have a minimum of 7+ years project management experience leading servicing teams across a large manufacturing facility.

  • Must respond to facility issues at all times for emergency situations.

  • Proficiency in technology is essential for this role, as you will be expected to work with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated success in working with clients, vendors, engineers, contractors, and consultants.

  • Proven ability as a strong negotiator.

  • Expertise in the development of customer requirements, formulation & implementation of plans, project execution and fiscal management.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team.
