Family Resource Network Lead Direct Support Professional- Saturdays- Morris County in Morristown, New Jersey

As an FRN team member, you'll be part of a passionate community dedicated to making a difference every day.The Out N About program is a community inclusion program for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The program provides social, enrichment, and recreational opportunities for the individuals enrolled in the program. The Direct Support Professional Lead shall assist participants in the ONA program in participating in activities planned within the community, promoting socialization, and assisting the individual(s) with working on their independence. The Direct Support Professional Lead shall provide support and guidance to Direct Support Professionals and ensure participants are cared for under the best practices and support options. The Direct Support Professional Lead will work with the Adult Recreation Program Coordinator to plan activities/events monthly, ensure the program runs smoothly, and will be responsible for all necessary paperwork for all activities/events.Out N About programming occurs on Saturdays and requires in-person staff attendance. Saturday event hours vary but typically take place between the timeframe of 10AM 3PM. Virtual opportunities may also be available throughout the week. Hour availability will vary based on scheduled events. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Must work a 3 in-person events per month that occur on the weekendIs attentive, flexible, and supportive of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their familiesMaintain regular communication with the Adult Recreation Program Coordinator via agency emailCollaborate with the Adult Recreation Program Coordinator to develop appropriate program activities that align with participant goalsIs technologically proficient and able to use company implemented platforms to ensure successful programming and documentationOversee scheduled events/activities, provide proper supervision of staff, and establish appropriate staffing ratiosEnsure that all work is carried out in a manner that is both respectful and empowering to families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesEncourage and model appropriate social behaviors and interactionsLead and facilitate program activities and coordinate supplies when applicableResponsible for maintaining the comfort, health, safety, and well-being of participants during program events and intervening when necessaryProvide hands on care, assistance, and supervision to participants in program activities and eventsDemonstrate a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanorSubmit all program documentation by specific deadlines, including attendance sheets, timesheets, progress notes, debit card reconciliation and receipts, etc.When necessary, will be required to drive clients to and from a planned activity in rental cars reserved by the Family Support CoordinatorContact the Adult Recreation Program Coordinator at least 48 hours prior to a scheduled event/activity if unable to attendAttend quarterly DSP/program meetings and other agency events as requiredFollows mandatory reporting procedures according to FRN and state protocolsOther duties as assigned by supervisor and/or CEO BENEFITS:Professional Development opportunities: To include job-related training opportunities, in-house CPR and Handle with Care training provided, and compliance training provided by the HR team to help you develop in your role.Technology provided: Company-assigned tablets for most positions as well as company email, dedicated team to assist with technical issues.Support from your team: Supportive supervisors and leaders that support you in order to support our participants, opportunities to advance at the agency.Job Security: A stable job at an established, growing company, Paid orientation, sick time, training, Referral bonus program and a 403b Retirement program.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to engage in physical activities including:Walking long distancesLifting, moving, or holding weight of 10-40 pounds may be requiredRespond immediately and appropriately to ensure participant health and safety needsMaintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirementREQUIRMENTS:Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school degree or GEDBachelor’s Degree in social work or related field preferredMeet agency and state requirements, and maintain credentials for the position, which includes ongoing trainings, annual professional development hours, annual evaluations, CPR Certification, TB test, etc.Experience with assisting and serving individuals with developmental disabilities and recreation programming preferredSupervisory experience preferredMust submit to a criminal history review/ fingerprinting. All employment and continued employment are contingent upon receipt and maintenance of a satisfactory criminal records review/ fingerprint report.Drug Testing required upon hireIf driving for the agency, a valid driver’s license, proper registration, insurance and satisfactory driver’s record required- these credentials must be maintained for initial and continued employment
