What We are Looking For

We are currently recruiting for a Development Technician to join the team in Lincoln. This is a key role that will support the business by working on a variety of development projects as part of a multidisciplinary team, and will be responsible for the manufacture of Engineering Prototypes, Verification and Qualification electronic safety and initiation modules. Liaising with other members of the Engineering team the Development Technician will perform a hands-on role to help develop robust, manufacturable and cost-efficient designs employing up to date technology.

The role supports development activities by providing feedback on the manufacturability of development hardware and supporting the generation and maintenance of the Product build folders.

Other duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Monitor on time delivery to the agreed plan of manufacturing products at the required quality levels within the allocated hours.

  • Take actions to monitor and control costs associated with manufacturing processes.

  • Control stock and highlight any shortages within a timely manner to enable on time delivery.

  • Control and be accountable for their stock usage and scrap.

  • Promote teamwork in developing solutions to manufacturing and development programmes.

  • Have ongoing input, based on lessons learnt, on development programmes to ensure reliable cost-effective designs are produced.

  • Support in the New Product Introduction process.

We would really like to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Qualified in electronics engineering to ONC level or above.

  • Experienced in the testing and manufacture of electronic modules for the Aerospace and Defence market.

  • Have developed expertise in a wide range of manufacturing processes including electronic assembly and soldering.

  • Be able to problem solve and apply knowledge of manufacturing process to new developments.

  • Be a Proactive self-starter and able to take the initiative.

  • Team player and able to motivate others.

  • Pays attention to detail with a quality mindset.

  • Takes a flexible approach to work and a willingness to move to other areas.

  • Great communication skills.

  • Good IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc).

  • No shift work and an early finish on a Friday! – the site works a standard 37 hours per week, Monday – Thursday: 7.30am – 4.00pm, (7.30am – 12.30pm).
