Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development. Includes supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence.

  • SQEs have various levels of differentiation which are related to level of technical understanding of engineering drawings and ability to manage vendors.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor, with proven interpersonal skills. Communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered. Provides informal guidance to new team members. Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations.

  • Impacts projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy, but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment, but may require more senior levels of guidance.

  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • Responsible for the effective design transfer of New Product Introduction Programs from GE Healthcare Engineering development to deliver a High Quality, Manufacturable solution at our selected suppliers

  • Assesses and evaluates supplier technical capabilities as an enabler for the best supplier selection process possible

  • Establish and empower working relationships with external and internal interfaces (Suppliers, Sourcing, Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Service, etc)

  • To influence product design specifications at the design stage

  • To support effective Design transfer to Manufacturing

  • To ensure that customer requirements are understood, internalized and implemented in all New Products Development Programs.

  • Ensure adequate due diligence is applied throughout the NPI cycle to deliver to Program and Customer requirements

  • Drive a continuous improvement culture in all we do: Design, Manufacturing and Program Delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires advanced experience in the Sourcing & Supplier Quality Development. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • Experience of Industrial development methodologies, DFM, DFT applications and subsequent implementation at a New Product Introduction level are appreciated.

  • Effective problem solving, root cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change (cross functionally and globally). (TPS, 6 Sigma, Lean experience)

  • Fluent in communicating in English (both written and verbal).

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Travel within region is to be expected as part of this role, 10-20% level
