Mercury Systems CNC Machinist in Gulf Breeze, Florida

In this role you have the opportunity to become an integral member of the Production Team for the Mission Systems Displays Group, a leading provider of mission-critical avionics and display system solutions. As an Mercury CNC Machinist, you will... * Creates new programs for complex prototype or production machined parts on 3 and 5 axis mills and updates existing programs as necessary * Create set-up sheets, and tooling diagrams for all CNC machines * Verify programs and setup sheets prior to being released for production * Validate new and updated programs * Setup and Load machine * Run Program * Inspect and measure part to verify the machine is producing print conforming parts * Make program and instruction updates as required * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and models in order to determine materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) * Coordinate and execute work orders according to build plan schedule * Calculate requirements utilizing basic math, geometry, and trigonometry to prove part program making proper installations and adjustments as needed * Supports mechanical engineering by interpreting new product requirements and drawings to ensure manufacturability * Support manufacturing engineering and actively participate in the continual improvement process * Support product engineering by machining and updating metals for test fixtures * Maintain specifications by observing operation, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes * Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications * Collaborate with engineering on design vs machine capabilities * Perform preventive maintenance requirements per manufacturer's instructions with the ability to troubleshoot malfunctions as needed * Comply with good housekeeping, quality, FOD, and safety procedures * Perform other tasks as required by leadership To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience * High School diploma or equivalent * Ten (10) years’ work experience as CNC Machine Operator; apprenticeship and trade school considered in combination with work experience * Experienced in AS9100 manufacturing * Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings which utilize ASME Y14.5 * Proficient in the use CAD/SolidWorks * Strong knowledge of GD&T * Manual programming of G and M Code * Skilled in conceptual and process improvement * Knowledge of supply management and inventory control * Excellent attention to detail * Ability to work independently or as a team * Ability to work in a manufacturing environment wearing proper PPE Physical Demands/Working Conditions * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. * The employee is occasionally required to reach out with hands and arms, to stoop, kneel, or crouch. * The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
