This is a key management role within HID Global’ s Identity & Access Management Solutions (IAMS) Business Area, reporting to the Vice President of Engineering and Innovation.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for driving product management excellence across IAMS product management functions which today are organized within the three IAMS business units.

This role will be an individual contributor that operate in a matrix organization but with high visibility withing IAMS, HID and ASSA ABLOY.

As our Director Product Management Excellence , you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Look after People, Not Product – the role will not be owning a product

  • Act as a mentor for all product managers and product owners within IAMS by providing guidance and direction for both career development as well as ways-of-working, policy and guidelines.

  • Assist in the recruitment process of product management roles within IAMS

  • Actively contribute in continuous development and improvement and drive excellence for the product management functions

  • Represent IAMS in product management forums within HID and ASSA ABLOY

  • Develop, plan and execute product management related trainings to drive continuous development

  • Drive good practices for product management.

  • Provide guidance and education by working side by side with the respective product management roles in the following areas;

  • Tools and framework to track product financial performance

  • Formulating an inspiring vision for a product and a strategic portfolio vision

  • Implement drive data-driven decision making and expertise for the product management functions: Selecting data samples, analyzing them, and drawing the right conclusions.

  • Help others understand and use common product management methodologies such as Customer-Centric Product Management, Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Jobs to be Done (JTBD), and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)

  • Carrying out the relevant product discovery work.

  • Creating and validating a product strategy including market and user research.

  • Developing a product roadmap and setting realistic product goals/outcomes.

  • Creating and adapting a business model and generating a financial forecast.

  • Creating user models like personas, based on first-hand knowledge of the users and customers.

  • Working with the product backlog: Stocking, prioritizing, refining, and updating a backlog; capturing product backlog items as user stories.

  • Validating solution ideas: Using, for example, product demos, usability tests, and A/B tests.

  • Be part of managing and enhancing the company’s agile and portfolio management process.

  • Participate in continuously enhancing and improving the IAMS Systematic Innovation System.

  • Lead Product Management Community of Practice

    Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Product Management Space.

  • 10+ years’ experience of Product Management at scale, including key contributor to the products roadmap and generation planning

  • Ability to present to executive management.

  • A builder of relationships regardless of direct and indirect reporting lines

  • Ability to influence and collaborate up, down and across functionally to peers and groups.

  • Ability to act as a mentor/coach for various product management roles and people at various levels.

  • Experience from established product management tools and systems

  • Experience from customer insights and customer feedback loops

  • Demonstrated experience from managing commercially successfully products/services

  • Demonstrated leadership experience from operating in a matrix organization

  • Experience from training others in various product management roles.
