Robert Half Controller in Falls Church, Virginia

Description

Thriving construction services company located in the Falls Church, VA area is looking to hire a thorough Controller with previous experience managing the financial aspects of construction projects and day-to-day financial functions. In this role, you will oversee and lead a finance department ensuring financial systems that are in place generate revenue and yield to compliance with US GAAP. In this Controller role, you will be responsible for maintaining the organization’s financial health, enforcing a system of controls that minimize risks and accomplishes budget obligations. We are looking for a candidate who can drive cash generation, improve financial accounting systems, and provide management with the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end, quarterly and year-end closings

• Manage the general ledger and ensure accounts are reconciled, guaranteeing the accuracy and completeness of financial data

• Prepare and manage financial reports, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with legal requirements and accounting standards

• Review financial transactions and statements for accuracy and compliance

• Develop and implement financial controls and policies to safeguard company assets and comply with financial regulations

• Manage corporate tax obligations and reporting to ensure compliance with tax laws

• Collaborate with the finance team on finance, accounting, and payroll activities

• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities

• Prepare monthly management reports to present financials to the management committee

• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management for improvement

• Provide financial information and support for the administration of the company’s retirement plans, including ESOP, Profit-Sharing 401(k), NQDCP, and Pension.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Experience with DCAA regulations and requirements

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Ability to implement and manage ERP Solutions

• Understanding of general Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to conduct and oversee Auditing processes

• Experience in managing Budget Processes
