The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive.

Job Purpose:

The Entertainment Box Office Supervisor is responsible for Supervising all operations and Team Members for the Box Office. This leader will focus on fostering a positive and engaging work environment for the team, providing exceptional guest service all while operating as effectively and efficiently as possible. All duties will be carried out in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the interview and selection process of Entertainment Ambassadors.

  • Facilitate training and development of Entertainment Ambassadors.

  • Facilitate corrective action and terminations of Entertainment Ambassadors.

  • Create and facilitate Annual Reviews for Entertainment Ambassadors.

  • Responsible for day to day Supervision of Entertainment Ambassadors.

  • Responsible for scheduling Entertainment Ambassadors by assigning duties based on business volume.

  • Facilitate Box Office sales.

  • Supervise Box Office cash banks by following proper cash handling procedures.

  • Responsible for auditing and tracking comps, balancing cash vouchers, theater ticket sales and reporting outcomes to department managers.

  • Responsible for theatre ticket voids and refunds.

  • Maintaining a clean and safe Box Office environment at all times.

  • Oversee night of show ticket issuance, redemptions, ushering and promotions associated with shows.

  • Maintain a professional and pleasant department image by consistently communicating and presenting information in a professional manner to internal and external guests.

  • Promote Club Sycuan membership guidelines and perks to internal and external guests.

  • Create new Club Sycuan membership accounts and Club Sycuan membership card reprints.

  • Ascertain and resolve guest concerns, requests, and /or complaints in a timely, courteous and informed manner.

  • Oversee the completion of data entry and Box Office transactions to ensure proper procedures are followed.

  • Oversee Entertainment Ambassadors at Sycuan Casino Resort off property sponsored events.

  • Audit and stock entertainment supplies and requisition additional inventory as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Specifications:

    Education and Experience:

    Essential:

  • High School Diploma, High School Certificate of Completion, or G.E.D.

  • 3 years of guest service or hospitality experience

  • 2 years of supervisory experience

  • Cash handling experience

    Desirable:

  • Casino gaming experience

  • Box Office experience

    Skills and Knowledge:

    Essential:

  • Excellent writing proficiency

  • Ability to research, compile and analyze data

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse population

  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members

  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership to staff members

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments

  • Ability to perform data entry assignments

  • Ability to complete forms and documents and written reports

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to evaluate problems encountered on the job and make sound judgments

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to eight hours at a time

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directives

  • Ability to accept and provide constructive critiques

  • Ability to appear for work on time

  • Ability to work in a smoking environment

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

    Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Oasis Super PlayMate player tracking system and Yapsody theatre ticketing system

  • Multi-lingual
