Starting Pay: $18- $20/hour, based on experience

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs a wide variety of tasks in support of manufacturing/production of concrete mixer and refuse truck parts and bodies. Responsible for preparing parts and equipment for paint including removing previously applied paint, cleaning, and degreasing, smoothing surfaces, and protecting unpainted surfaces by masking. These duties require strong attention to detail to adequately prepare the trucks for the next stage in the high-quality manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wash, clean, and wipe down vehicles to be painted

  • Remove and replace all components as required for painting and sanding

  • Mask, paper, or grease components when appropriate

  • Operate necessary equipment (dual action hand sander, electric lifts, etc.)

  • Use basic hand tools and other small power tools associated with equipment and prep work prior to painting operations

  • Perform minor bodywork and maintain condition of vehicle or component through the entire paint process

  • Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands

  • Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of materials

  • Follow verbal and written work instructions

  • Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Regular attendance required

  • All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

  • Participate in onboarding training and annual training related to being a hazardous waste handler as required by the EPA RCRA hazardous waste rules. This will include ability to understand what waste hazards are, storage time limits, satellite accumulation, marking, labeling, weekly inspections, aisle space, storage, manifest shipping, use and location of emergency equipment, response to spills and fires, evacuation routes, etc.

Minimum Qualifications for this position are:

  • Ability to follow all safety and compliance regulations

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year of applicable position experience

  • Enjoy working in a team environment

  • Experience using hand tools
