We are the Department responsible for the maintenance and operations of the critical facilities and utilities on the chemical production site in Geel. We are looking for a Site Shutdown Lead.

You will be an individual who enjoys working independently and with a team with strict deadlines and in a pressurized environment.

General:

  • Lead of the Geel Site annual Shutdown. The position will be responsible for the overall planning and execution of maintenance and engineering activities during the 2 to 3-week shutdown in July. Included in the responsibilities is the successful startup of production activities following the shutdown as well as coordinating the lessons learned exercise after the shutdown.

  • Takes full shutdown management responsibility and the accountability to lead the shutdown team for achieving desired outcomes in line with safety and quality requirements.

  • Provides leadership for the planning of the shutdown, including timeline for planning activities, engagement of key stakeholders during the planning process and ensuring planning process is meeting key milestones regarding work preparation. This in line with the J&J Credo

  • Agree key shutdown measurable objectives and KPI’s with all stakeholders.

  • Lead the Shutdown planning kick-off meeting, and ensure use of shutdown planning best practices.

  • Provide expertise necessary to bridge technical and business resources during the planning process and align with all relevant departments during the shutdown planning process to assess critical path, business risks and mitigating measures to ensure successful shutdown execution.

  • Leverage external partners to drive solutions and meet shutdown goals for the Geel site.

  • Be aware of the shutdown specific scheduling and financial requirements and ensure planning team is driving towards successfully meeting these requirements. Take ownership to set up and meet expected Shutdown budget.

  • Partners with MAM & E&PS project engineers, maintenance personnel, reliability engineers, operations personnel, other functions to make sure the shutdown scope includes all required maintenance and project activities that are shutdown dependent.

  • Ensure successful shutdown execution by overseeing coordination of work, adherence to all J&J EHS&S requirements, regular communications within shutdown team and mitigating activities to ensure successful completion of shutdown scope.

  • Keeps site senior management informed on shutdown status by creating, maintaining, and presenting written KPI’s on status, schedule, issues, and performance against established targets on a regular basis.

  • Ensures the documentation of shutdown activities and deliverables.

  • Measure shutdown performance against agreed measurable objectives

  • Lead lessons learned review post shutdown

  • Execute and follow all suitable prevention guidelines and procedure

Contractor Management:

  • Leverage safety rules are known for all main contractor service provider performing hard services activities on the campus Belgian Sites of Beerse, Geel and Olen.

  • Set straight and clear guidelines for all involved contractor companies to ensure a high safety culture on site.

  • Set up periodic governance process with key stakeholders internal and external to leverage necessary changes, escalations, and continuous improvements.

  • Part of the campus contractor management team

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (civil, bio, industrial) – multidisciplinary knowledge (process, electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, …)

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a strong regulated environment

  • Excellent communication skills (Dutch and English) – written / oral

  • Ability to work on short term and long-term projects, transitions and changes.

  • Innovative, agile, result driven – independent worker to achieve goals

  • Basic financial knowledge / life cycle management

  • Open mindset to review and challenge best practices embrace technological innovations

  • Able to cope with high level of stress and tight deadlines

  • Team player and able to achieve challenging team goals
